The Orchestra of Northern New York will bring the famous oratorio and holiday favorite, Handel’s Messiah, to churches in three communities Dec. 16-18.
The orchestra, conducted by Kenneth Andrews, will perform Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Massena, Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam, and Sunday, Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Canton.
Included in the concert is Part I, plus selections from Part II and Part III, including the Hallelujah Chorus.
The orchestra will be joined by the Potsdam Community Chorus directed by Dr. Jeffrey Francom. Soloists are Crane faculty Jill Pearon, Soprano, Lorraine Yarros-Sullivan, Mezzo-Soprano, Donald George, Tenor, and David Pittman-Jennings, Bass.
Tickets for the Massena concert ($15 for adults, $10 for seniors and children) are available at the door or by calling Melissa Lint at 250-1007, or at Massena Savings and Loan, The Massena Chamber of Commerce, Appearances Day Spa, Trinity Catholic School, and Coleman & Jerry’s.
