CANTON -- TAUNY invites new neighbors and old friends to find out what makes the North Country so special at TAUNY’s celebratory Welcome to the North Country Open/At-Your House on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4-6 p.m. at The TAUNY Center in Canton and online at tauny.org.
An annual tradition at The TAUNY Center, this year’s open house will be slightly revised to offer activities both in-person (with social distancing and mask-wearing required) and online.
Features at this year’s open house will include the chance to: enjoy live music with Gretchen Koehler and other special guests, snacks, and a cider pressing (with samples) outside The TAUNY Center; learn about North Country environmental and cultural life through the online release of Talking Wings Collective’s “As the Grasse Talks” Virtual Tour/Performance; sign up to receive bi-weekly email updates (at tauny.org) any time now through September 17th to enter a Welcome Basket raffle; and stop by The TAUNY Center to view and contribute your own perspective to the pop-up North Country Orientation exhibit display--as well as the ongoing “St. Lawrence County Barn Quilts” and Fiberistas’ “Landscape” and “Suffragette Quilts” exhibitions.
All are invited to join TAUNY for this assembly of virtual and in-person features to welcome newcomers, help make and celebrate new neighbors, and invite long-time residents to get to know the North Country in new ways.
