OGDENSBURG — The Ogdensburg Command Performance series has shifted the opening of the 2021-22 season from Oct. 30 to Dec. 18.

The upcoming six-show season has been altered slightly due to COVID-19 related issues with the popular musical Forever Young, according to OCP Administrator Sally F. Palao.

As a result of the scheduling change, ‘Forever Young’ will now hit the stage on Jan. 30, Palao said.

The minor scheduling change was unavoidable but fortunately Forever Young is still part of the OCP lineup, she said.

“We know how popular the show Forever Young is and I know our audience is going to love it, so we have been fortunate to be able to reschedule it for January 30th,” Palao said.

“It’s a minor change and one of those things we can’t control. However, the good news is that we’ll now be opening the season with the very popular Cirque-tacular’s Shimmer: A Holiday Cirque Reverie. It’s going to be wonderful,” she said.

The upcoming season will begin Dec. 18 with a production of Cirque-tacular’s Shimmer: A Holiday Cirque Reverie.

Shimmer is a visual and musical journey to an onstage winter wonderland featuring acrobatics, dazzling specialty acts, and glittering costumes, officials say.

“It’s quite a show and one that we are fortunate to be able to kick the season off with just before Christmas,” Palao said.

The schedule for the OCP series is as follows:

• Cirque-tacular’s Shimmer: A Holiday Cirque Reverie, December 18 at 4 p.m.

• Forever Young - January 30 at 4 p.m.

• South Pacific - March 1, 2022 at 7:45 p.m.

• Rhythm of the Dance - March 22, 2022 at 7:45 p.m.

• Broadway Bound: 3 Redneck Tenors - April 27, 2022 at 7:45 p.m.

• An American in Paris - May 18, 2022 at 7:45 p.m.
