NORWOOD – An Arts Academy for kids, iPad Essentials course for older adults, True Crime Book Club and Halloween party are planned for Norwood Public Library in October.
The Norwood Arts Academy is offering free art classes on Wednesdays, Oct. 5-Oct. 26 at the from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the library. Children ages 5 and up can take any one or all four classes, learning different artistic techniques with artist Kris Rozelle.
Classes include: Mixed Media Plaster 3D Painting on 10/5; Lava Bead Essential Oil Bracelets on 10/12; Acrylic Chunky Bubble Wrap Fire Pours on 10/19; and Mosaic Tile Art on 10/26. To pre-register call the library at 315-353-6692.
Senior Planet: iPad Essentials, a 5-week course on the essentials of how to use the Apple iPad, navigate the internet, and email, will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00pm, beginning October 11. This course is designed for adults ages 60 and up. iPads are provided for in-class instruction. To register, call (315) 353-6692.
Norwood Public Library's True Crime Book Club meets Oct. 4 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss “Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit” by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. No registration is needed.
A Halloween party will be held Oct. 22 at 1 p.m., featuring a ghost scavenger hunt, glow-in-the-dark coloring, treats, and a storywalk.
