NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School’s 10th Annual Green and Gold Spirit Night starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15 in the elementary school gymnasium.

The school’s Spanish-French Club sponsors the event, which pits teams of seniors and freshmen -- the Green Team -- against teams of sophomores and juniors – the Gold Team -- in contests of athletic skill, and in the ability to bring in fans and make the best posters.

Admission is $2 for pre-sale tickets and $3 for tickets purchased at the door. Children under 5 will be admitted free. There is also a $10 family admission again this year, for immediate family.

During intermission, Spanish-French Club members will conduct a foul shot/three-point-shot contest at $1 per shot. At the end of intermission, the Green Team or the Gold Team, whichever earns the most points in the shooting competition, earns extra points towards the overall tally.

Everyone is encouraged to wear their team colors to show support in the stands as well as on the court. Foreign language students will offer concessions and face painting. All proceeds go toward the Spanish-French Club’s fundraising for educational trips for its members.

Last year, Team Green edged out Team Gold in the final event. With the win, Team Green tied Team Gold in overall wins.
