NORWOOD – The Norwood Public Library is starting off the new year with several events and extended Saturday hours. The library will now be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

A Winter Reading Program for patrons of all ages runs from Jan. 2-Feb 28. Readers can track their reading activity. and turn in reading logs for a chance to win prizes to be drawn Feb. 28. Reading logs are available on the library’s website.

Adults:

• Meet Libby eBook Class: Thursday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. Find out how to use the Libby app to check out eBooks.

• Book Club: Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. January’s book is “The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie” by Alan Bradley.

• Crochet Circle: Saturday, Jan. 11 at 11:30 a.m. Crochet with Brittany Ashley. All skill levels welcome.

Children:

Children under age 14 will no longer have overdue fines on library materials borrowed.

• Library Hoots Storytime: Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Children and their caregivers can join Ms. Amanda for stories, songs, rhymes, crafts, and giggles. No registration needed.

• Marshmallow Igloo Challenge for tweens ages 8-12 on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. to build marshmallow igloos and enjoy hot cocoa. STEM books will be available for checkout. Register: 315-353-6692 or nowlib@ncls.org.

• TAG Meeting: Friday, Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. for teens to develop new plans and let the library know what they would like to see happen at their library.
