NORWOOD – Dailey Ridge Presbyterian Church will host the third annual Summer Daze for MINC (Ministries in the North Country) on Saturday, July 31, beginning at 10 a.m. at 411 Elliot Rd.
There will be an arts, antiques, and interesting items sale with an appraiser to value personal treasures from 1:30 to 3 p.m., a silent auction, music, readings for kids and the kid in all of us, and food throughout the day, including cake and ice cream. Activities will happen rain or shine in the church, Piecemeal Palace, and in the Big Tent.
Music will include Ted Tate on hammered dulcimer; John Danis on guitar; Don Woodcock on fiddle; the Acoustic Brothers; and the North Country Fiddlers.
Readers will include Sarah Gilmour and Rhoda Hall, accompanied by David Hart on guitar and vocal, and Lucille Waterson with a special story and writing contest for the Potsdam Humane Society.
Children’s activities will include reading along, writing, and other arts.
Other non-profit groups may join MINC (an ecumenical association of about 30 churches which provides rural rehab, emergency funds, foster teen Christmas presents, and other services) and the Humane Society to let people know about their group. Churches and other cultural organizations are welcome to sell and/or donate items, with 50 percent of the profits going to MINC.
