NORWOOD -- The Norwood American Legion will host a Memorial Day Parade with the theme of Salute to Community Service Workers and First Responders.
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31, from the American Legion at 10 Maple Street and along Spring Street to the Village Green Park.
Different from other years, there will not be the traditional gathering in the park. The American Legion float will pause the parade as it reaches the Village Park and the Norwood Village mayor and the American Legion Commander will lay a wreath on the monument with the Norwood Brass Firemen's Band playing taps.
The parade will then resume around the legion float, up Spring Street and back to the legion.
The public is invited to watch along the route and are invited to a free lunch at the legion with hotdogs, hamburgers, mac salad, chips and brownies being served. Social distancing protocols are being observed.
