North Country Crop Congress Feb. 14 at Canton Best Western

CANTON – Forage, weeds, weather and production costs are all in the lineup at the annual North Country Crop Congress Tuesday, Feb. 14 at the Best Western University Inn, U.S. Rt. 11.

Scheduled topics and speakers are: Optimizing Forage Production with Legume/Grass mixtures by Dr. Paul Peterson, University of Minnesota; Field Crop Weed Management for 2012 by Dr. Russ Hahn, Cornell University; Weather Patterns and Crop Production, Cornell University Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences; and Tracking Cost of Production for Crops, NNY Farm Business Management Team.

The program is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with registration beginning at 9:30.

Registration fee is $15 per person by Jan. 31 and $20 thereafter.

The awarding of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Pesticide Recertification Credits is pending.

You must attend the entire program to receive the DEC credits.
