NORFOLK -- The Norfolk American Legion Riders are sponsoring a charity motorcycle ride on Saturday, July 14 to benefit the Legacy Scholarship Fund.
It will start from the Norfolk American Legion Post 925, at the corner of Rt. 56 and High Street in Norfolk. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m., when the riders depart for four other stops at veteran's posts around St. Lawrence County. A lunch is available.
Riders then return to the Norfolk Legion for a meal and raffle drawings with prizes donated by supporters of the ride.
A poker hand is also available for those who wish to take part.
Proceeds of the ride will be contributed to the Legacy Scholarship Fund, set up by the national American Legion to help provide college scholarships for sons and daughters of U.S. military personnel who lost their lives since Sept. 11 while serving our country.
The ride will cost $15 for a single rider, $5 for a passenger, or $10 per person for the meal only.
The event is sponsored by the American Legion Riders, whose membership is of the men and women connected thru their membership in the American Legion family and their love of motorcycling.
