POTSDAM -- An informational meeting will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Potsdam High School library to discuss the grassroots efforts that have been taking place across the North Country in an effort to address the inequities in the proposed state education budget.
Information will be available on how parents, students and community members can take action. All are welcome.
Potsdam Central is among many schools in St. Lawrence County and around the state that are reeling in the face of budget shortfalls that are forcing difficult choices from among staff cuts, program cuts, and tax increases.
Only a few weeks remain before the planned vote on a state budget, and organizers said that now is the time to let state representatives know how the proposed budget will impact students.
