MASSENA -- Massena Meals on Wheels Annual Spaghetti fundraiser returns Friday, Oct. 7, with curbside pick-up only, from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. at 70 East Hatfield St., across from Massena Electric.

It will include both take-out lunch and dinner time options. Pre-order is highly suggested, but drive-up will be available.

Call 315-769-5083 to place an order and specify a time to pick up the order. Two hundred extra meals will be prepared this year, so hopefully everyone will get served.

The meal includes spaghetti and meatballs with sauce, featuring the original Village Inn recipe, tossed salad, Italian bread, and a gourmet cupcake. Cost is $10 per meal. Orders will be packaged for curbside pick-up.

The fundraiser is part of Meals on Wheels Day that also includes the “$tock the Pot” roadside collection, where donations will be accepted from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. on East Hatfield St. Pledge letters were not mailed out this year, so donors are asked to make a pledge in person, or mail donations, to 70 East Hatfield St., Massena.

The fundraisers benefit the Massena Meals on Wheels program, a private not-for- profit agency that provides nutritious meals to the elderly, homebound, sick, and handicapped people in the greater Massena area. It helps individuals maintain their independence by providing home-delivered meals five days a week. The meals are delivered by caring volunteers who make personal contact with each client daily.

Massena Meals on Wheels invites the public to support these fundraisers Oct. 7 by purchasing a spaghetti lunch or dinner or making a donation.
