MASSENA -- Anyone interested in racing in or sponsoring the Massena Greater Area Soap Box Derby should attend the first meeting 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at the Massena Community Center on Beach Street.
Any child ages 8 to 17 in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties can race. The meeting is mandatory for anyone who wants to race. The child and a parent or guardian must attend.
The organizers are also asking anyone who is interested in sponsoring a driver and car or the Massena Soap Box Derby to attend.
There were over 50 racers in last year's event.
The winner in each class will have a chance to compete in the championships in Akron, Ohio.
