MASSENA -- The Massena Rod & Gun Club is sponsoring a home firearm safety course on Aug. 29 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

This course is an NRA certified course presented by Retlaw Personal Defense.

The course is designed for prospective and current gun owners on the safe and proper way of handling a firearm.

The course will include classroom and hands-on instructions.

This is a non-shooting course and it can be used to apply for a pistol permit and/or have restrictions lifted.

All students will receive a certificate upon successfully completing the course.
