Massena library plans online shopping help for seniors, basket making crafts, kids activities

MASSENA – A memory lab digitization service, online shopping help for seniors, sewing and basket making crafts, and activities for kids and teens are available at the Massena Public Library this month.

Do you wish you could convert your old videotapes, color slides, negatives, music albums, 45s or cassette tapes to digital form? The library has free equipment available and is offering training sessions in digitizing them. Call the library for an appointment.

If you are an older adult interested in online shopping but aren’t sure where to begin, the library’s Senior Planet program is offering a free presentation on online shopping Wed., Nov. 16, at 2:30 p.m. No registration is required.

A sewing project to make a snowman table runner will be offered Nov. 30 and Dec. 28 from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Materials needed will be given when you register.

A sturdy storage basket making class will be held Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the library’s community room. The cost is $50. Handout of materials needed will be provided at registration.

Book Time with Beethoven the therapy dog, is offered for children ages 4-17 and their caregiver on Tuesdays a 4 p.m. Call the library to register for the free 30-minute reading session with Beethoven.

The next Lego Club will be held Nov. 26 from 10-11:15 a.m. for children ages 6+ and their caregivers.

Babies Music and Movement program for children 18 months and younger will be Mon., Nov. 14 and Nov. 28 from 10:10:30 p.m.

Toddler Time for children 19 months-3 years old will be held Thurs, Nov. 17, from 10-10:30 a.m.

Pre-K Story Time for children ages 3+ will be held Tues., Nov. 15 and Nov. 29.

Roll for Initiative, a Dungeons and Dragons storytelling game to act out, is meeting for teens ages 14-18 on Nov. 2 and Nov. 16, Dec. 7, and Dec. 21 from 5-7 p.m. Tweens ages 10-13 will be held Nov. 9 and Nov. 30, Dec. 14, and Jan. 4 from 5-7 p.m.

Tween Book Club for children age 10-13 will be meeting Mondays in November and December from 4-4:45 p.m. to discuss the book Poppy, by Avi. Registration is required.
