MASSENA – A book sale, refreshments, raffles, and a children’s scavenger hunt will be part of the celebration of National Library Week April 24-29 by the Massena Friends of the Library.
Patron Appreciation Day will kick off the event with free cookies, coffee, tea and juice boxes on Monday, April 24.
A children scavenger hunt will be offered to children all week, with a free coupon for Stewart’s ice cream cone at the end.
Library Giving Day will be April 25, but will also include a week-long lottery ticket tree raffle and handmade basket raffle.
“A Man Called Otto,” a comedy/drama film starring Tom Hanks, will have a free showing Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m., with a chance to win movie tickets to the local cinema.
A Spring Book Sale of books and DVDs will be held Saturday, April 29, from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Members of the Friends of the Library will have early access, starting at 9 a.m.
The New Horizons Swing Band will perform a mix of jazz and swing music for a toe-tapping lively concert on Saturday, April 29, at 12 p.m. in the library’s main reading room.
