Natural History Exhibition

MASSENA: Natural History Exhibition May 18 and 19, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., St. Lawrence Centre; 25 live animals from the Foundation for Animal Research and Education and Little Ray’s Nature Centers; interactive, hands-on educational exhibit features two interactive 30-minute educational programs that rotate 15 minutes apart; presentation times are 10:15, 11:45, 1:15, 2:45 and 4:15 for the Reptiles & Invertebrates program each day; Mammals program is at 11:00, 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30 each day. The sloth only comes out during the mammal presentation; stay 1.5 to 2 hours to see all of the animals in both shows; tickets are $14 at the door, or $10 for additional people over 4 in a group; kids 2 and under are free, advance tickets up to the day before the event are $12 online: https://fare.whitelabeltickets.com/en/pages/massena .

Learning Farm open house

CANTON: The Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm, 2043B State Highway 68, will host an open house with activities for the whole family, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; families will learn about the many programs Cornell Cooperative Extension does for St. Lawrence County through hands-on activities and demos including food preservation, taste testing, dog and goat agility, planting plants and seeds, and craft activities, farm-to-table display, Dairy Princess and milking cow, farm-to-school taste testing, and BOCES Ag Academy info; check out the different 4-H clubs and learn about the farm’s lambs, goat kids, and chicks; food for sale from Anastasia's Bakery, The Cambodian Food Truck and Big Spoon Kitchen; silent auction with items donated by the Best Western, Coakley’s, Sergi’s Canton and many more places from around the community; proceeds from the silent auction will go to support 4-H programs in St. Lawrence County; admission is free, with a few items you can purchase at the event; parking will be at Canton Central School with shuttle buses going back and forth; stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu.

Free seniors dental clinic

CANTON: For the fourth year in a row, the St. Lawrence County Dental Society will hold a free dental clinic for uninsured senior citizens at the Community Health Center, 4 Commerce Lane, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; clinic will provide oral exams, basic restorative work, simple and surgical extractions and oral cancer screenings; info: Dr. Aaron Acres at 315-265-3377.

Art exhibit reception
