Local Foods Weekend Sept. 9-11 to showcase St. Lawrence County businesses

Explore our foodshed on Sept. 9, 10, and 11 as part of Local Foods Weekend, a 3-day celebration of our rural food system that is powered by many hard working farmers, retail stores, restaurants, along with local organizations and customers.

Local Foods Weekend showcases St. Lawrence County area businesses while encouraging community members to participate in event activities ranging from tours, special menus, open houses, children’s activities, live music and more.

With over 30 events hosted by food producers and businesses throughout the region, you can visit one, or multiple locations.

Dive into the regions rich food culture by attending events by the participating businesses or organizations including 8 O'Clock Ranch, ADK Food Hub, Akwesasne

International Pow-Wow, Big Spoon Kitchen, Birdsfoot Farm, Bittersweet Farm, Canton Apples, Canton Farmers Market, Cedar Hedge Farm, Foster the Plant Cafe, GardenShare, Giffin Road Maple, Grasse River Hemp / Northern Limits Farm, Jernabi Coffeehouse, Kaneb Orchards, Kat's Confections, Kent Family Growers, littleGrasse Community Farm, Martins Farm Supply, Martin's Farmstand, Extension Master Food Preservers, May Meadows Farm Stand, Milkweed Tussock Tubers, Nature’s Storehouse, Pat and April’s Pork, Potsdam Farmers Market, Potsdam Food Co-op, Rock Hollow Farm, St. Lawrence Nurseries, The Blue House, The TAUNY Center, Trout and Heron, Tucker’s Black Angus Ranch, WildWood Hills Farm.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County is organizing the publicity of the Weekend, and each participating business is coordinating and running their chosen activities. There is a prize raffle as part of Local Foods Weekend. For every business that you visit, enter for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the participating business of your choice.
