POTSDAM – “My Mile for Hospice” and “Swim a Mile for Hospice” will both be offered this summer as fundraising challenges to benefit Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.

This June, Hospice is hosting the My Mile challenge, separate from the traditional Swim A Mile event to be held in August.

“My Mile for Hospice,” an individual or team-based fundraising event, allows participants to choose their own activity to “go the extra mile" for Hospice, including running, hiking, kayaking and biking. It also allows choice of the best day and time to complete the event during June.

“My Mile brought community members together in support of our important work last year.. We had asked you to "go the extra mile for Hospice" and you did – a total of 84 participants logged nearly 2,500 miles for our virtual event,” said Zachary Monroe, Hospice Director of Development and Community Relations.

“Despite such a difficult year for many, you rallied together and raised an amazing $35,500 for Hospice,” said Monroe.

Registration for My Mile for Hospice can be completed online by visiting hospiceslv.org, starting May 23.  My Milers can pick up their participant packs from the Hospice office during regular business hours. starting June 1.

Top fundraisers of $250+ can pick up their prizes at Hospice offices July 18—22.

The traditional Swim-A-Mile will be taking place  Saturday, August 6, at Norwood Beach.  Registration and fundraising information will be available in June.

“Thank you for your continued support of Hospice in this unique way. We are extremely excited to welcome everyone to go the “extra mile” this summer!’ said Monroe.
