HAMMOND -- Hammond Fire and Rescue will host its annual field day chicken barbecue Saturday, July 18, but without the field day events. They are canceled due to the coronavirus.
“We had to cancel the Field Day parade, auction and dance but the take out only chicken barbecue will be held. We expect to sell out early so I encourage the public to call early and place their pre-orders for dinners,” Fire Chief Len Bickelhaupt said.
Dinners include a half chicken, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and a roll for $12, and will be takeout only.
Only pre-orders will be accepted. The deadline to pre-order is noon on Wednesday, July 15.
Call 315-324-5227 to pre-order your dinner and receive an assigned pick-up time. Dinners may be picked up at the fire station located at 300 Lake St.
