HAMMOND - The Hammond Fire and Rescue Annual Field Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, at the fire station located, 300 Lake Street.
A pre-order, takeout-only chicken BBQ will begin at noon. To preorder, call or text 315-783-2396. All dinners include BBQ chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans and a roll. The cost is $13 for half chicken dinner and $9 for quarter chicken dinner.
At 5 p.m., the burger barn will open for the night for burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, sausage with peppers and onions, fries, fried dough, soda and adult beverages. Kids games and the bounce house will start at 6 p.m. with the live band “At All Times” playing from 8 p.m. to midnight.
Fire Chief Len Bickelhaupt says, “the late approval for carnivals by New York State with no High School bands being available has caused us to cancel the parade. But we still wanted to do something for our community so we will conduct this smaller field day. Come out and bring the family for a fun-filled evening.”
