GOUVERNEUR – The First United Methodist Church is offering free Lenten suppers and programs, Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 16, and ending on April 13. All are invited to come and bring a dish to pass.
On March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Brown Chapel, the Agape Prison Ministry team will share about their experience of ministering in the Central Prison of Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India.
On Monday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Chapel, there will be a Clown Ministry in town, Happy Linda and the Joy Clowns & Company will give a presentation of the ministry they have created at the Gouverneur Nursing Home. Those interested in becoming a part of this group or just want to be part of the evening’s festivities, may join them at 34 Grove St.
On March 23, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Chapel, Rev. Dr. Wilfredo Baez, Pastor to the church will share about his ministry to Methodist Evangelical Church in Nicaragua.
On March 30, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Chapel, Peggy Dicob and Nelta McCarthy will present a program of sacred liturgical dance.
On April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Brown Chapel, the Children’s Sunday School will provide a puppet show based upon their study of the parables of Jesus.
On April 13, there will be a Lenten-Easter Hymn Sing in the Fellowship Hall.
