NORWOOD – A ghost hunt, scary story contest, and slightly spooky stories and treats in the gazebo are among the fun October activities at Norwood Public Library.
• A ghost hunt to find 10 ghosts in the library and earn a goody bag is offered for children throughout the month. Clue sheets are available at the circulation desk.
• A scary story and poem contest is being held for teens ages 12-18. Three winners will each receive a $25 gift card to the St. Lawrence Bookstore, donated by the Friends of the Norwood Public Library. The categories will be for best poem, scariest setting and overall best story. Print Submissions can be emailed to nowlib@ncls.org or print copies can be dropped off at the library by Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. Word limit is 2,000 maximum. Format typed in PDF, Word, or Google Doc. Winners will be announced Oct. 30.
• “Ghosts and Goblins in the Gazebo” with slightly haunted stories, cider and treats will be held outside Saturday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. Costumes are optional. Register by calling the library at 315-353-6692.
The Norwood Public Library is located at 1 Morton St., Norwood. It is open Tues. and Thurs. 2-8 p.m., and Wed., Fri., and Sat. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
