OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Knights of Columbus are preparing to serve their annual free Thanksgiving Day meal on Nov. 24. This year, the community event is returning to dining in the hall, after two years of doing only takeout and deliveries due to COVID.

The Knights of Columbus have provided free Thanksgiving dinners for over 30 years to all who ask for it. The number of people served at the annual event has increased to several hundred people.

The dinner will be held at the Msgr. A. D. Charbonneau Council 258 Knights of Columbus room, 721 Hasbrouck St., from noon to 2 p.m.

Take-outs are also available, starting at 11 a.m., and deliveries for shut-ins who live anywhere in Ogdensburg.

To make a reservation for deliveries, pick-up meals, or transportation to the dinner, please call the clubhouse at 315-393-7990 by Wednesday night if possible. If there is no answer at the clubhouse, leave your name and phone number.

The bulk of this event’s food items come through the generosity of the community through donations. Food has gone up considerably, and if you wish to make a monetary donation for the dinner, mail your check payable to The Knights of Columbus Msgr. A.D. Charbonneau Council 258, Attention: Chairperson William Taylor, 721 Hasbrouck Street, Ogdensburg New York 13669.

Volunteers are needed to provide transportation to the event and for take-out deliveries. To volunteer, call 315-393-7990. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m.
