MASSENA – The New York Power Authority will feature four contemporary films focused on interesting twists and turns in modern life during March’s “Friday Matinees” at the admission-free Hawkins Point Visitors Center.
The movies are shown at 1:30 p.m. in the center’s theater, and both the movies and the popcorn are free.
The movie schedule is as follows:
• March 4: My Best Friend’s Wedding – When a woman’s long-time friend says he’s engaged, she realizes she’s in love with him and sets out to get him, with only days before the wedding.
• March 11: Get Low – A movie spun out of equal parts folk tale, fable and real-life legend about the mysterious 1930s Tennessee hermit who famously threw his own rollicking funeral party while he was still alive.
• March 18: The Importance of Being Earnest – In 1890s London, two friends use the same pseudonum (Ernest) for their on-the-sly activities.
• March 25: Morning Glory – An upstart television producer accepts the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show program with warring co-hosts.
