CANTON – Fireworks and North Country mainstay band Double Axel are the highlights of SUNY Canton’s Fall Fest Wednesday, Sept. 15.
The first fireworks will launch at 9 p.m. from the field behind Smith Residence Hall.
Double Axel will perform classic rock sets at 3:30 and 6 p.m., and a college DJ will performing at 4:30 and 7 p.m., also in field behind Smith Hall.
The rain location for all events except for the fireworks and soccer match is in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center. All events are free and open to the public.
Other events during the student-orchestrated festivities include:
• A construction celebration of the college’s Grasse Rive Housing Suites at 3 p.m. at the Cornell Drive construction site.
• A raft race for student choice of rooms in the new suites at 4 p.m. on the Grasse River.
• Plattsburgh-based hypnotist Michael Blaine will perform at 5 p.m. at the field.
• The Kangaroos men’s soccer team will take on SUNY Potsdam Bears at 7 p.m. at the turf field.
