COLTON – Zion Episcopal Church’s fourth annual Fall into Fall Coffee House Series will be launched on Friday, Oct. 15 with the appearance of Troy O’Brien and Kelsey Newtown at 7 p.m. in the church undercroft, 91 Main St.

O’Brien, of Potsdam, won first place in the 2010 St. Lawrence Talent Search program held last May at Lisbon Central School and Newtown, a ninth grader at St. Lawrence Central, was the second place winner. They also represented St. Lawrence County at the Great New York State Fair Little Caesar Talent showcase.

The series will continue Friday, Nov. 19, 7 p.m. in the undercroft with a performance of the Potsdam Pointercounts, the student-run, 12-voice men’s ensemble from SUNY, Potsdam. They recently released a CD, “Grand Slam.”

On Friday, Dec. 17 the series concludes with a program of seasonal music as performed by The Ad Hoc Singers at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Founded and directed by Sondra Goldsmith Proctor in 2008, the current group includes Alexandra Jacobs, soprano, Laura Ramsay, soprano, Julie Pomainville, and Lansing Laraway, tenor. The group’s home base is Gunnsion Memorial Chapel, St. Lawrence University.

Funds raised this year will help support the Colton Neighborhood Center. There is no admission but donations are accepted. Refreshments will be served.
