Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County will host a webinar series for local homeowners and renters in the North Country who want to learn more about energy efficiency in and around their home.

The webinar is hosted by Community Energy Educator Kathryn Ripstein and will focus on ways residents can save money on their utility bills.

Webinar topics include:

• Detailed, low-cost, “Do-it-Yourself”, fixes residents can do in and around their home to save money on their utilities bills each year.

• Information on three different weatherization programs offered through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) for homeowners and renters. Through NYSERDA programs, income-eligible residents of New York can receive a free home energy assessment and up to $7,000 dollars of home energy improvements.

• Finally, the webinar will conclude with information on renewable heat and solar installations including federal and state tax incentives homeowners can take advantage of to cover the cost of installation of these green technologies in your home.

The webinar series will consist of six one-hour webinars:

• Monday, April 13 from 5-6 p.m.

• Wednesday, April 15 from 5-6 p.m.

• Friday, April 17 from 5-6 p.m.

• Saturday, April 18 from 10-11 a.m.

• Sunday, April 19 from 2-3 p.m.

• Monday, April 20 from 5-6 p.m.
