AKWESASNE – The Empire Super Sprints will make another appearance at Mohawk International Raceway this Friday for Lazore’s Construction Night.
This race was originally scheduled for June 8, but was postponed due to heavy rain and hail. The event two weeks ago was a scheduled event for the ESS traveling stars as part of their SUNY Canton Shootout Weekend.
When the Empire Super Sprints last visited Mohawk two weeks ago, it was Kevin Ward Jr. taking home his second career ESS victory and first of 2012. He held off series veteran Chuck “Cobra” Hebing to take the win.
A full field of Sprint Cars is also expected once again this Friday night.
The Bailey Motor Company Pro Stock Series will also resume on Friday night after Ghislain Valade took the opening win of the series on June 21.
A full program of Modifieds, Sportsman, Mod Lites and Bandits will also be on the card.
General admission is $22 for adults, and $20 for students and seniors. Children age 12 and under are admitted for $8. Pit admission is $32 with DIRTcar license and $35 without.
Pit Gates open at 4 p.m., general admission opens at 5 p.m., and racing starts at 7:45 p.m.
Mohawk International Raceway is in Akwesasne, midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino off of Route 37, south on Frogtown Road.
