EDWARDS – The Hepburn Library of Edwards, 205 Main St., is hosting its winter Cabin Fever series of discussions on outdoor adventure in the North Country starting Jan. 15.

The presentations are free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m. the organization Hiking the Trail to Yesterday will give a presentation on some of the longer hikes in the North Country and the history behind them. Loon Lake Mountain, High Falls on the Oswegatchie, Cat Mountain, Low’s overlook on Hitchen’s Pond and the Bog River are just a few that will be discussed.

Representatives from Visit St. Lawrence County Trails will be on hand Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the new online countywide trail guide. A “one-stop-shop” for trails, STLC Trails connects to current information and maps for hundreds of miles of trails in St. Lawrence County. The new site covers trails for hiking, snowshoeing, biking, paddling and many more outdoor activities.

Nature Up North personnel will talk about the organization’s endeavors on Tuesday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. NUN holds many workshops, hikes, paddles and other opportunities throughout the year. Nature Up North has an online community where people can share their outdoor encounters as well.
