DEKALB JUNCTION -- Bring a folding chair or a blanket and join Don Woodcock and George Dodds for their performance on the lawn of the Meetinghouse Museum on June 13 at 2 p.m. Rain date June 20 at 2 p.m.
The Meetinghouse Museum is located across from the Hermon-DeKalb School, 696 E, DeKalb Rd. DeKalb Junction. The concert sponsored by the DeKalb Historical Association and the Arts Council is free and accessible to everyone.
Don Woodcock, a master fiddler and three-time New York State fiddle champion, will perform with his long-time friend and fellow musician, Dr. George Dodds. The two will entertain with a fiddle and a guitar playing some of their old-time favorites.
Don and George met in 1970 when George taught himself to play the guitar in three weeks to join Don’s band and accompany Don on the fiddle. After years away from the north country, George is again playing with Don.
Both men have deep north country roots. Don has worked with TAUNY to preserve our music traditions. George has written original compositions about his hometown. The evening will provide historical insight into our music.
