LAWRENCEVILLE — Deep Root Center-East (DRC-East) is planning a craft show and live music event on May 21 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Lawrenceville firehall and field, 1081 County Route 54.
Proceeds from the event will help the organization purchase a church in North Lawrence that could serve as the permanent educational home for DRC-East, the second Deep Root facility in St. Lawrence County. The organization operates a facility in Canton.
The student members also plan to create a cultural resource center, which will feature a place to hold live music events, theater productions, workshops, and discussions for the wider community.
The day will include live music from DJ Sal Sarmiento, a drum circle jam with Sal on didgeridoo and Catie Dominy on percussion, and three local bands, the River Mohawk Band, Downtown and Playback.
There will be a wide variety of vendors and presenters, Tab's Cantina food truck, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, arts and crafts created by our student members, face painting, and other fun activities for the entire family.
Admission is $2 each or $10 per family of 5 or more.
