POTSDAM – Community Performance Series is fixing to cook up something special this year with the sixth annual Gourmet Guys & A Gal fundraiser at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, in Thatcher Hall, SUNY Potsdam.

CPS created Gourmet Guys & A Gal in 2006 and the event continues to be the organization's largest fundraiser. Four local chefs team up to design a gourmet menu just for the occasion.

The chefs include: George Arnold, director of dining services at SUNY Potsdam; Steve Maiocco, executive chef at SUNY Potsdam, Wally Siebel, guest chef at 1844 House, and Jenny Walker, co-owner and chef of 1844 House Restaurant, Potsdam.

The five-course dinner will be served by a number of community volunteers and the CPS staff. Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by local jazz artist and music educator Tim Savage on piano, along with Dan Gagliardi on bass and Phil Neisser on drums.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person, with proceeds benefiting the Community Performance Series. Reservations can be made by calling the CPS Box Office at 267-2277 or visiting www.cpspotsdam.org.

The Gourmet Guys & A Gal menu is available online at the CPS website.

Reservations must be made by Jan. 21, 2011.
