CANTON – A two-part workshop series called Veg 101 on Monday April 16 and 23 will help people interested in starting a vegetable garden for the very first time get off to a good start.
The sessions will be held those evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm on State Route 68, two miles east of Canton
The sessions will feature hands-on activities, a resource packet and practical advice.
Instructors include Amy Ivy, Richard Gast and Paul Hetzler.
Site, soil and raised bed construction will be explored on April 16, and on April 23 the topics will be seeds and transplants, layout and planning, and how to care for and manage your new garden.
The cost for the two-part series is $25 per person. Registration is needed by April 10.
