OGDENSBURG - Local artist and illustrator Dave Ferry will be offering his comic book drawing class in Ogdensburg this month on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Frederic Remington Museum’s Administrative Office Building, 311 Washington St.
The three-hour class will provide students with the opportunity to learn the basics of comic book storytelling starting with basic drawing exercises.
This monthly series of interactive workshops, held in Ogdensburg on the second Saturday of the month, will explore everything from figure drawing, character development, perspective drawing, sequential storytelling, and most important; bringing ideas to life.
Newsprint for in class drawing exercises will be provided, but attendees should bring their own sketchbook, pencil and a decent eraser.
David Ferry studied visual arts at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and Edinboro University.
The class is open for age ranges adolescent to adult. Cost per attendee is $18/member and $20/non-member. The signup deadline occurs two days before the class each month. Contact Education Specialist Lauren Gilmour at 393-2425 to reserve your seat.
