POTSDAM – Cinema 10 continues its Fall 2011 season Monday, Nov. 7 with a showing of Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives/Loong Boonmee raleuk chat , a 2010 film from Thailand that won top prize at Cannes.
Films are shown on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. in the Roxy Theater, Main St.
Tickets are $4.50 general / $35 season or $3.50 student/senior/$25 season.
Uncle Boonmee is a rare piece of art that manages to be as mystifying and confusing as it is beautiful and poignant.
Writes Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, "[this] haunting and hypnotic film exerts a hold you don't want to break."
It is a wonderful excursion through Boonmee's past and current lives as the titular character prepares for the approaching end.
Uncle Boonmee was awarded the top prize at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
