WINTHROP -- Cornell Cooperative Extension will host a vineyard pruning workshop Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at High Peaks Winery.
Join Lindsey Pashow, Cornell University Regional Ag Business Development & Marketing Specialist and owner/operator of Keeseville-based Adirondack View Vineyard, as she demonstrates vine management options including how to spur-prune.
Her perspective as both a Cornell educator and successful vineyardist makes this a rare opportunity for participants.
Learn current best practices, grapevine terminology, and why vine training is essential.
Class is outdoors, so please dress for the weather.
A light snack will be provided, and participants will be able to taste and purchase High Peaks wines after 1 p.m.
Open to commercial fruit growers as well as to hobby farmers and anyone considering future grape production.
The cost is $5.
Pre-registration required through the CCE website stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu or by calling 315-379-9192.
