• Dance Maculelê, The Yoga Loft, 107½ Main St., Canton, (pronounced mah-ku-leh-LAY) is a traditional Afro-Brazilian folk dance using sticks and machetes. This class is intensely aerobic and interactive and will stimulate your mind, body, and spirit. Wear loose fitting pants or shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. • Play Capoeira, The Yoga Loft, 107½ Main St., Canton, ages 13 and up, get an intense cardio and strength-building workout (pronounced ka-poo-EYH-da) is a dance-like ritual martial art game that incorporates acrobatics, circular kicks, sweeps, dance moves, percussion, songs, and even a little theater. Basic movements, rhythms, songs, and principles of the art of capoeira will be introduced in this six-week session. Practiced in bare feet.
