CANTON – The Blackbird Café, 107 Main St., is hosting its Open Stage night to promote and celebrate local musicians, beginning Thursday, Sept. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m.

To enhance the fun and excitement of the evenings, a talent competition will again be added to the venue, with the best talent earning a spot on the Blackbird’s second-annual Live at the Blackbird CD, to be produced in the spring of 2011.

Open Stage night will run the first and third Thursdays of the month, from 7-9 p.m. through December, and will pick up again in February, for the spring semester.
