The Town of Potsdam and the Village of Canton are each exploring the option to join in an upcoming bid to consider an electricity supply contract through a community choice aggregation (CCA) electricity program.
CCA programs, like those established in Potsdam and Canton, can provide eligible residents and small businesses with access to renewable and standard electricity supply options at rates negotiated between energy suppliers and third party brokers [in the case of Potsdam and Canton, Joule Community Power]. Residents are automatically enrolled in the program and have to actively opt out with Joule.
