Canton library offers a lot to do for kids and teens

CANTON -- Canton Free Library has a variety of special events planned for children and teens this summer.

 The Summer Reading Program has an outer space theme this year. It runs July 9-August 1 for ages newborn-12 years. For information on times for each age group and to register, email vwhite@ncls.org, call 315-386-3712 ext. 4, or visit the library, 8 Park St.

Teens can attend programs including “Let’s Play” with video games on Mondays from 3-5 p.m. and “Casuals Wielding Dice” with Dungeons & Dragons and “Call of Cthulu” on Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m.

In addition, summer programs for all ages include:

• July 11: Books at the Beach, 2 p.m., Taylor Park Beach, Miner St.

• July 18: Didgeridoo Down Under, Australian themed show, 2 p.m, First Presbyterian Church.

• July 25: Musician Nan Hoffman, audience participation, 2 p.m, First Presbyterian Church.

• August 1: Pet Show: Children must pre-register. 2 p.m. in Village Park, rain location First Presbyterian Church.
