CANTON -- Sign-ups for the upcoming youth basketball season in Canton are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the concession stand near the Canton High School gymnasium. If you are unable to make it then, contact Matt Metcalf at metcalfm@canton.edu or (315) 854-5681.

The Canton Hoopsters season will begin Wednesday, Oct. 16 and is for boys and girls in grades one through six. Age groups are divided into three divisions, grades 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6. The first and second graders play on Saturday mornings in the Banford Gym from 8 to 9 a.m. The third and fourth grade basketball program takes place on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in the Banford Gym featuring coed teams. Times on Saturday are 9, 10, and 11 a.m., and times on Wednesday are 5, 6, and 7 p.m. Teams will play at different times each week.

The fifth and sixth grade basketball program also plays on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings in both the middle school and high school gyms, and is divided into boys’ and girls’ teams.

The cost is $35 for one child or $60 for a family.
