CANTON -- The Canton Chamber of Commerce is inviting all Canton businesses to decorate their storefront in a Halloween theme. Voting for the favorite storefront will take place during the Phantoms in the Park event and parade on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Phantoms and their family/friends will trick or treat to all the participating downtown businesses that will be passing out candy and vote for their favorite storefront. Ballots will be tallied up after the parade and the winning business will be announced and promoted by the Canton Commerce.
The annual Phantoms in the Park, sponsored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce, SUNY Canton and St. Lawrence University Student Activities will begin at 11 a.m. in the village park. A costume contest will be followed by a Trick or Treat parade at noon.
The categories for the costume contest are Scariest, Most Original, Funniest, Most Patriotic, Cutest, Most Creative Use of Recycled Materials and "Families at Phantoms." There will be a prizes and games.
Businesses interested in joining the the Trick or Treat parade list should call the Chamber office at 315- 386-8255. Also, any Chamber business is welcome to set up a table in the park.
