CANTON -- Associate Professor of Environmental Studies Jon Rosales will give a talk titled “Can We Avoid Dangerous Climate Change?” on Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Hannon Room of Sullivan Student Center at St. Lawrence University.
The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Rosales will provide an update on the latest climate science and policy from the United Nations climate conference in Cancun, Mexico, including information on the risks of continued greenhouse gas emissions at their current rate; what can be considered “dangerous” climate change; what countries have pledged regarding reductions in emissions so far; and what reductions in emissions are needed to bring levels to an “acceptable” range.
