POTSDAM -- The Crane Opera Ensemble will present "From Berlin to Potsdam: The Music of Kurt Weill," a wide-ranging cabaret evening of song, this weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31.

The award-winning musical ensemble from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will offer two performances each evening, at 7 and 9 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights, in Dexter's Café in Thatcher Hall.

An amalgam of solos and ensembles from composer Kurt Weill's diverse works in three languages, "From Berlin to Potsdam" is a show that has been created specifically for cabaret presentation at SUNY Potsdam. This special event will feature highlights from Weill's three main periods: pre-World War II German, French and post-war American musical theater.

Guest stage director David Ronis from Queens College, along with musical directors Kirk Severtson and François Germain from The Crane School of Music, has created a lively and entertaining evening of music featuring Crane student performers.

Limited seating is available for this event. Therefore, ticket reservations are highly recommended. Drinks and gourmet desserts are available for purchase prior to each performance

Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for SUNY Potsdam students and faculty. Contact the Community Performance Series Box Office at 267-2277 or visit www.cpspotsdam.org.
