POTSDAM – Anyone who lives, works, or plays in Potsdam may have noticed protesters down at the post office.
Black Lives Matter (BLM) rallies were held for 172 days straight last summer and fall and there have been many more rallies since then.
For those curious to know more about what brings folks down to the rallies, come listen to a panel of local Potsdam residents talk about their experiences with BLM Potsdam.
“Black Lives Matter in Potsdam: So what are all the post office protests about, anyway?” is an online discussion led by Rev. Katrina Hebb of the First Presbyterian Church Potsdam.
The program will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. It is sponsored by the Potsdam Interfaith Community (PIC) and is free and open to everyone.
Black, bi-racial, and white neighbors will share stories about racism in the North Country and why they choose to raise awareness about creating racial justice in the world.
To receive the Zoom link, visit the PIC Facebook page at www.facebook.com/diverse.community or send an email to potsdaminterfaith@gmail.com
For more information or to speak with Katrina Hebb about the upcoming program, contact Suzanne Smith, PIC board member, at 315-212-1278 or smith.suzanne04@gmail.com
