NORWOOD — A benefit with music, raffles and food will be held for Russ LaRose on Feb. 25 at the Norwood American Legion from noon-5 p.m.

LaRose was diagnosed with liver, lung cancer and other life threatening health issues. After cancer treatment he will also undergo bypass surgery on his heart before he will be placed on a waitlist for a liver transplant.

Medical bills and trips to specialists are piling up for LaRose, say organizers. “Russ is a kind, generous and loving man. He has always been willing to lend a helping hand whether to his family or a stranger on the side of the road,” they said.

Admission to the benefit will be $5 and will include food. A cash bar will be available.

There will be a door prize and many raffles to include a lottery tree, 55-inch television, carnival popcorn machine and more.

All proceeds will go to benefit LaRose.
