CANTON - Golfers, beginner to expert, are invited to participate in the second annual Baldwin Memorial Golf Tournament for Sandy’s Step to Edge Out ALS on July 31 at Partridge Run Golf Course.

The fundraising goal is to purchase MobiChairs to donate to local beaches to allow beach access for wheelchair bound kids of all ages.

Registration will open at 7:30 a.m., a putting contest will begin at 8:30 a.m. and Captain ‘n Crew play gets underway at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.

The cost is $60 per person, $240 per four-person team of men, women, or mixed.

Prizes will be awarded to top teams in each division. Hole-in-one prizes on each par 3 include $7,000, a television, air fare, and Callaway golf clubs. Other on-hole contests and prizes will be awarded.

Pre-register to play or to become a tournament sponsor at any level of support by contacting Tina Baldwin Taillon at teeoffals@gmail.com or 315-244-5392.

The tournament honors Rose Baldwin of Hopkinton and Don Baldwin of Parishville, lost to ALS in 2019 and 2009 respectively.

Sandy’s Steps was founded in honor of Sandy Tulga, who supported her father through his battle with ALS –Lou Gehrig’s disease—and then courageously faced the disease herself. The goal of the organization is to provide direct support to North Country ALS families who face unique challenges because of their distance from ALS Centers of Excellence and ALS Association chapters.
