HAMMOND – An artist trading card workshop, a collaborative art event, will be held at Iva Smith Memorial Gallery, 627 State Highway 37, on Saturday, June 8.
Participants will create at least two artist trading cards from a variety of artistic medium including pencil, marker, colored pencil, watercolor, collage and fiber.
All ability levels are welcome.
The collaborative portion of the event takes place when the creative process is talked about in a time of sharing, followed by a swap when participants trade their newly created cards with each other.
In order for everyone to enjoy and complete the process it is necessary for participants to commit to attending the entire workshop.
Supplies will be provided for a minimal fee of $5.
Please arrive between 9 and 9:30 for coffee, greetings and set up.
The workshop will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Workshop leader is local artist Evon Lloyd.
Please register in advance by contacting Evelyn Saphier, gallery director, at enpsaphier@gmail.com or 718-753-7947.
Artists trading cards are miniature works of art, 2 ½-by-3 ½ inches in size, created using an artistic medium of one's choice. ATC's are traded at swap events, and are not sold.
