Art, magic to be part of Potsdam summer recreation program beginning June 28, 29

POTSDAM – The St. Lawrence County Arts Council has teamed up with the Potsdam Recreation Center to offer two opportunities for youth to add some art and magic to their summer fun.

These classes will take place at the Pine Street Arena in Potsdam as part of the six-week Summer Recreation Program.

• Morning Magic Club with Rich Tenace– Tuesdays & Thursdays at Potsdam Pine St. Arena, June 28-Aug. 4, 8:45-9:15 a.m., ages 4-8; same dates, 9:15-9:45 a.m., ages 9 and up. This beginning magic class will meet twice a week at Potsdam Pine St. Arena. Learn basic tricks with ropes, cards, coins, and sponge balls. Students learn showmanship, acting, confidence building, and how to use their creative muscles. Enroll for all 6 weeks for $60 or drop-in for only $5 per class.

• Arts at the Park with Trish Varney - Wednesdays at Potsdam Pine Street Arena, June 29-Aug. 3. 8:45-9:15 a.m., ages 4-8; same dates, 9:15-9:45 a.m., ages 9 and up. Morning art projects will include pinch pot creatures using air dry clay, watercolor design, and experiments with chalk pastels, papier mache and more. Enroll for all six weeks for $30 or drop-in for only $5 per class.
